Opera Ice browser coming February

Opera Software, the company behind the popular browser of the same name, will launch a new smartphone and tablet browser called Opera Ice in February, Pocket-lint can exclusively reveal. It is an attempt to stay relevant and take the fight to Google and Apple in the mobile browser stakes.

Mostly correct, in February Opera announced it was switching to webkit but there was no product released with the Opera Ice branding.

HTC will use 8S, 8X, and 8V names for upcoming devices

HTC is to launch the HTC 8S running Windows Phone 8, Pocket-lint has learnt. It will join the HTC 8X, seeming to follow the naming convention used on the HTC One devices. Our new information comes from a trusted source, confirming that the HTC 8S exists, with speculation that the third device could be the HTC 8V, although our source couldn't verify that third device name.

iPhone 5 to run on Everything Everywhere's 4G network

It is understood that the iPhone 5 will work on the UK's 4G network from launch. Multiple sources have suggested to Pocket-lint that the latest handset from Apple, expected to be unveiled on 12 September, will support the 1800MHz spectrum band that Everything Everywhere is to use for 4G data from 11 September.

HTC Windows Phone 8 handsets set for October reveal

Pocket-lint's source, who is very much in the know when it comes to all things Windows Phone 8, has told us that an October unveil is more likely for HTC devices. On the plus side this means we should have less of a wait to get our hands on the phones following the Windows Phone 8 rollout, rumoured to be 26 October.
